Recovery is a voice-first symptom journal. This policy explains what the app collects, where that information goes, and how to delete it.
Recovery is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis or treatment.
Everything you record stays in local storage on your iPhone, protected by iOS file protection:
This information is not uploaded to a Recovery account, because there are no Recovery accounts. It is not backed up to our servers. If your iPhone backs up to iCloud, your Recovery data may be included in that backup under Apple's privacy policy.
When you start a voice check-in on the Today tab, Recovery streams your microphone audio to our backend, which connects it to OpenAI's Realtime API so the assistant can hear you and reply. Your spoken words and the assistant's replies pass through OpenAI's service.
This happens only while a voice check-in is active. Recovery does not listen in the background or record when you have not started a check-in.
